A boutique built on operating experience.
Short, senior-led strategy missions for biotech, pharma and MedTech — founded on three decades of operating in the industry, not observing it.

Founder Story
Two vantage points, one firm
D&C Pharma Consulting began with an observation made from two very different vantage points: the most valuable strategic questions in healthcare are usually compact — and the consulting industry answers them with volume. Long engagements, large teams, thick decks. We built the opposite: focused missions of one to four weeks, designed around a single critical question, ending with a decision.
Mario von Dyhrn-Calas leads the firm's client engagements and its development across Europe. His background is international business rather than the laboratory: structuring engagements, reading markets across borders, and keeping every mission disciplined from first call to final recommendation. Working across French, German, Spanish, Slovene and several Central European languages, he gives the firm something rare at boutique scale — native reach across Western and Central Europe.
That discipline is paired with deep pharmaceutical substance: three decades of global franchise strategy, biotech business development and ground-level healthcare practice. Every mission runs on both engines — one partner ensures the engagement moves with precision, the other ensures the strategy respects the science. The result is what our clients come for: short missions that end in decisions, not documents.
Philosophy
Why "science into strategy" is more than a tagline.
Most strategy consultants learn the science second-hand. Our foundations are the reverse: pharmacy and pharmaceutical science first, then global commercial leadership. That order matters. It means clinical data is read at the source, medical and commercial logic are integrated rather than translated, and recommendations respect both the evidence and the market.
This depth is anchored by Thierry Calas, PharmD, MBA, Senior Advisor to the firm — three decades of pharmaceutical strategy, including global franchise leadership at Takeda and AbbVie, biotech business development through to an IPO, and years behind the counter of his own pharmacy. His fingerprint is on the analytical backbone of every mission
Questions & answers
Frequently
Asked Questions
How long does a typical mission last?
Between one and four weeks. Not because the questions are small, but because they are precise — and precision rewards focus. Longer support is possible when a mission naturally extends, but we never design engagements to be long.
